How do I create a folder?
What is Web-based Email? Web-based email is email that you can access from anywhere
with an Internet connection. You can use your browser (Internet Explorer,
Netscape) to go to www.quickhosts.com/cgi-bin/sqwebmail. Then you
just enter your username and password to open your personal mailbox. The
primary advantage of web based mail lies in the fact that you can use ANY
computer with a
browser
and Internet access to check your mail, freeing you to check your mail
virtually anywhere. On the other hand, e-mail programs that are configured on
your own computer limit your mail accessibility to that computer. The
popularity of Web mail has increased dramatically, accounting now for about 35%
of all e-mail boxes worldwide.
How do I sign-up for the Web-based
E-Mail?
Web-based email access is an included featurewith all of our accounts.
Will you give or sell my e-mail address to
other companies?
No, personal information such as name and e-mail address are used by
quickmail for administrative purposes, and for contacting the user regarding
customer support, account upgrades, new feature announcements,
virus
alerts, and maintenance disruptions to the mail service. We do not sell,
rent or divulge personally identifiable information to any third party.
Once I get the free E-Mail where do I go to
check my mail?
Simply go to (www.quickhosts.com/cgi-bin/sqwebmail) and use
your user name and password to sign in.
What is the (Restrict Access to your IP
Address) check box and do I need to use it? The Restrict Access to your IP Address is just an added
security feature. If you want to restrict your login session to a single IP
address (default) then proceed to login. If you know you are behind a
firewall that may change your "real" IP then you may need to uncheck this
box. If you don't know what a
IP address or
a firewall is then it is best to leave this box checked.
How do I delete a message once I'm done reading
it?
All you have to do to delete a message is to click in the check box to the
left of the message title then press the delete button at the bottom of the
page.
What does "Automatically purge deleted messages
after x days" mean?
This means what ever messages you have put in your trash folder will be
deleted forever in the specified amount of days. To change the number of days
just put a higher value in the box the press the update preferences button.
What is the "Your Signature" box
for?
This is so you can put an ending signature onto all your E-Mail. To change
it just write the new ending signature in the signature box and click on the
"update preferences" button.
What does the "Display Full Message Headers"
check box do?
This just puts a more elaborate description of what servers the message
passed through. If you don't care what servers the message passed through then
leave this box unchecked.
How can I make it so my Inbox displays more
than 10 messages per page?
Simply click on the preferences link then use the scroll down box to
display a higher value.
How do I add an address to my address
book?
Click on the Addressbook link, then fill in the "New Nickname" field with
the name or nickname of the person you want to add. Then press "Create", and
put their real name and E-Mail address in the text boxes listed and press the
"Add" button.
How do I delete a person from my address
book?
Press the "Address book" link then choose the name from the "Choose"
selection and press the delete button.
Can I change my "from address" or "real name"
in my messages? Yes. If you edit the "From:" field when
composing a message, that new "From:" field data will stay in place until you
change it again. This applies to your "real name" in quotes and/or your From:
email address.
How do I add an attachment to my
E-Mail?
Simply press the "Attachment" button at the bottom of the E-Mail, then on
the attachments page press "browse" and select the attachment of your choice.
Press the upload button, and when your attachment is finished uploading select
it and press the send button. This will send your message with the attachment.
How do I delete a folder?
If you want to delete a folder just select the folder then press the delete
button.
How do I create a folder? Put the name of the new folder in the
create folder text box and press the "create button" to the right.
